Z80 Kits
@rc2014 I think the Jupiter Ace in the 80s was a Forth based computer in a similar format? Cool. Very tempting.
@nygl Yeah, the designers of the Jupiter Ace are ex-Sinclair that realised that Forth was a much better language than Basic, but couldn't convince Clive Sinclair to adopt Forth. So they started their own company to prove him wrong....
@rc2014 And if I bothered to read the dot points…..
@rc2014 Hi! Which kit would you recommend for demoscene purposes? I see that there are AY/YM expansion modules, but I cannot figure out what is the best video output option for the platform?

@rcl Simple answer is - it depends 🙂

I assume you mean which RC2014 kit, in which case the Classic II is probably the best place to start. (If you mean for Minstrel 4th, then you're limited to the output from that kit)

The "best" video output that I sell is the RP2040 VGA Module. That just takes ANSI/VT100 serial and converts it to VGA. There are other cards such as the TMSEMU which emulates a TMS9918A which can be driven directly.

@rc2014 Thank you! This is exactly what I wanted to know - it looks like the TMS module is that preferred option I was looking for (meaning already having some software library). Very interesting, and something I am curious to explore ;)
