So much of what iPad can't do is stuff that Apple refused to let it do — to protect the revenue streams of the App Store and other products like the Mac. We're going to look back on the Tim Cook era as a period where Apple intentionally compromised its products, its customer and developer relationships, papercut by papercut, because of the corrupting influence of in-app purchase revenue. If iPad were to launch today, its reception would be *much* closer to the Vision Pro and Apple TV App Stores
@stroughtonsmith Agree completely! It's sad as I believe Jobs 's Apple had the vision of what iPad could become. I think back to the "Whats a computer" commercial. It really could have become THE device that everyone uses, Portable Tablet Touch screen when it needs to be, Powerful Mac like device when it needs to be etc. They were always to consumed with not cutting into the mac margins and trying to sell you a mac AND an iPad instead of focusing on making the best product and iPad could be.
