so we fell behind on our electricity and as we struggled to just kinda make end's meet elsewhere the bill piled up over the last several months. our fridge/freezer is out, and we get almost all of our food from a church pantry and SNAP

we stopped opening our mail and missed a shutoff notice, and we just had our power cut like an hour ago

the bill is $590; there's an extra $200 deposit to reconnect service, so i basically need to raise as much of $800 as i can

i applied for energy assistance with the state, but since it's so much there's a """policy department""" that'll make the decision of if and how much they'll help, and they need a dr's note from Phidget about his CPAP before they'll look at it anyway

@mutualaid we've raised $210/800 needed to get our power back on so far

in a couple hours im gonna call another aid office, this one for Native American folk, and we're still waiting on the dr's note for the state

we managed to secure most of our food by putting a towel and a bunch of ice in my grubhub bag, and then wrapping that in another blanket for insulation; it's sitting in our bathtub, door closed. we're going to try to find a cheap butane burner we can use to at least prepare some food

Phidget has a job interview on monday; once he has a job, ill be able to find something part-time that'll work out for us for logistical and puppy-watching reasons. i really hope this is the last time i have to make posts like this
