@Jakra tough question, we aren’t looking at what “we” collectively need. Which may be part of the nature of elections, the outcome is a sum of personal preferences.
@fletch My question wasn't about the outcome of the election, but the health of our democracy itself. Has the process that lead to this outcome, resulted in an improvement in the health of the system, or has the de facto vote on trumpianism handed the victory to an incumbent who may not have earned it.
@Jakra earned or gifted, the alternative was beyond the pale. Dodged a bullet. USA Democrats had the problem of perfect over good. Australia has a system that ensures good and we should be thankful.
