🇨🇦 If you wanted to destabilize a neighboring country using active measures it might look like this:

🔥 Infiltrate a national party and foment fake grievances.

🔥 Attack and destabilize the economy.

🔥 Foster a regional separatist movement to build a wedge in the federation.

It looks like the first two have failed and now Daniel Smith is being used to execute the last of these strategies. I'll relish the day she faces justice. #ElbowsUp #CanadianPolitics

@Maxfieldripken @Robo105 @mike No - you need to refute the lie that states that public broadcasters unfairly compete with private broadcasters- private broadcasters exist to make money for their shareholders - if they accidentally report events objectively then that is an unexpected bonus. If you defund public broadcasters you enter the rabbit hole of misinformation and alternative reality.

@Maxfieldripken @Robo105 @mike Agreed and we also attempt to regulate this in Australia but it will always be an issue in smaller open markets. The best defence against syndicated spin is a well funded independent and reputable public broadcaster. A society pays a terrible price for not having such a public broadcaster - just take a look at the alternative universe below the 49th parallel.
