Porting FreeBSD to run on the Pinephone Pro

@hnygd I'd be happy to help coordinate upstreaming your work. I'd suggest putting your changes into a fork of the FreeBSD src tree rather than keeping the changes as patch files in another repo.
@emaste That is a great offer, thanks so much! We will definitely get in touch. 🙂
@hnygd i'd love to help, sadly I don't know how and even if I can. It would be great to have a BSD phone.
@scalonnec If you try out the image on a Pinephone Pro, I am sure you will come across many things that could be improved or still need to be implemented... 😀
@hnygd Is that a BSD phone?
@hellomiakoda It's a PinePhone!
@PINE64 @hellomiakoda Actually it is a Pinephone Pro, our patches and image does not support a classic Pinephone (and this also isn't on our roadmap, as we are focusing on the more powerful device, hoping that in the future it even might be useful for some kind of actual daily workload).
@hnygd screw the "year of the Linux desktop", it's time for the "year of the BSD smart phone"!
@nicemicro dex. Year of the bare metal dx7. Or netbsd, if you must. (ducks. Runs.)
@hnygd I mentored @mmokhi for ports and he's brilliant, I think he does have a src bit. He would be great to work with if he has the time and resources 😇

@feld Thank you very much! @emaste has already offered his help a few days ago. 🙂

@mmokhi

@feld thanks for your very kind words ❤️😊💐 I sure learned a lot thanks to you
@hnygd
I’d be happy to help if @emaste needs an extra hand
