All the USA did was get in Ludendorff's way during the Kaiserslacht, causing the German general staff to panic in anticipation of an unstoppable human wave of doughboys, leading them to retreat and sue for an armistice.

@javi @cstross Particularly those ones that were still fighting in 1919

Older war memorials in Britain used to list WW1 as being from 1914 to 1919. It was only later that the war was reworked as ending in 1918 - possibly once the USSR switched sides and started fighting with us against Hitler

@cstross It also worked with the Holocaust of the USA, because a few years after Germany's attack on Poland (the US had power to stop the Holocaust earlier, but preferred its comfort)
