It's appropriate because it's the state flower of this fascist place and its a good reminder that we are complicit in this. If we can make people associate bluebonnets with authoritarianism, good. This whole state was stolen to enable the slave trade to continue. Once the US banned importing new slaves, they just trafficked them through independent Texas instead. These were our so-called state founding fathers too, their names and likeness all over the place. Fuck the Alamo!

Never again fascism! But this country is not interested in that.

Let's be absolutely clear.
A rich man demonized some very miserable people fleeing for their lives to a place they thought was lawful and had always admired. Now that they are unpopular the state of Texas is allowing them to be indefinitely detained, without trial, until they can be deported to a for profit prison in a third country.
And Texas is letting it happen because people think most of this group may have broken a minor law.
