I don't know what I expected, but I would have thought they were more complicated in some way.

I guess one thing becomes evident - it really doesn't look like there is anything in one to wear out!

I wonder how hard it would be to homebrew one?

@IU1KGS Yup! Back to the filter - looking at it more as the video nears the end, I guess it's genuinely mechanical - it's essentially a spring?
@ve3qbz it appears to be a “disc flexural resonator” and its resonance mode is not obvious.
