This graffiti appeared on a wall around the corner from my flat over the weekend (photo 1).

Unlike the landscapes of my childhood (photo 2), it’s unusual occurrence for the sleepy little town I live in, where the habitants’ average age is probably 60+, “foreign-looking” van drivers occasionally arouse suspicion on local social media groups and egging of houses on Halloween is - fortunately - the extent of anti-social behaviour.

What do you think it means? 🤔

The funniest thing about this is that the affected wall is opposite one of my neighbours’ front gardens. One of the people who lives there comes out of his house several times a day to smoke (and occasionally sets his lawn on fire with the cigarette ash) and this graffiti is directly in his field of view during his smoke breaks. He already looks like the “Ben Affleck smoking meme” a lot of the time - don’t think this will make him any happier.

I wonder if the graffiti is targetting him? 😂

@MAFesenko a modern cave painting of an ancestral smoker... an interesting idea.
@MAFesenko looks like it’s been painted, rather than spray-canned… obviously a town so upmarket the residents can’t graffiti properly!
@steveroyle Hahah I had the same thought about the paint drips 😂
@MAFesenko OTOH, it's got a 1970s UK (pre-hip hop) feel to it, a la “G Davis Is Innocent”. So maybe the artist is a fan of retro street art.
@steveroyle I learnt a lot about British pop-culture from that reference!
@MAFesenko looks like someone wants people tovget ran over against a wall...
