We're counting down until we talk relics at Writing the Occult on 10 May, so figured it's time we do a little relics roll call. And just to show not all relics relate to the major religions, here's a magical fairy flag from the Isle of Skye: clan MacLeod's Am Bratach Sith.🧵⬇️

One of the clan MacLeod’s most treasured possessions, legend has it that this sacred clan banner has miraculous powers. When unfurled in battle, the clan would invariably snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. They still believe the flag brings them magical protection. 🧵⬇️
Am Bratach Sith's origins are murky, but there are three theories: first, it was brought back from the Crusades by a clan member who claimed it was the girdle of a Daughter of Thunder; and the other two theories give it origins in the fairy folk.
