So true.
When I see "now includes AI!" I walk the fuck away.
Purchase...?! Are you insane?! In fact, it's cause to rethink purchasing anything from your company.

I agree completely, "Artificial Ignorance"(we have enough ignorance on our own) must not be championed recklessly.
"everything" is the key thing here
I use some photo editing programs that claim to use AI (I think it's just sophisticated algorithms but marketing) that are very effective, such as object removal functions.
But anything LLM related is just plain garbage. Has anyone ever actually tried an SLM based on a small amount of reputable and reliable information or does that not waste enough water and energy.
@the5thColumnist @verymetalsite Just out of curiosity, I asked ChatGPT a legal question to which I already knew the answer. It's very slightly technical, but not hugely so; this is something that every lawyer in California who does criminal law would be expected to know, even rank beginners. ChatGPT got it spectacularly wrong, and it took a somewhat lengthy Socratic-method conversation, linked below, for me to persuade it of the right answer. Let's just say that this does not enhance my willingness to rely on LLMs for, well, anything.

Actual ALT text, as @verymetalsite refuses to fix it and it's a good meme:
The picture shows black and yellow lettering over a red background.
The black text says: "Stop forcing AI into fucking everything"
The yellow text, in a ring surrounding the black text: "Nobody asked for it; everyone hates it"
@verymetalsite Do you remember 'sugar'?
Nobody asked for that to be added to everything....
I think you should not shout at the producers, but rather the consumers that make this worthwhile and, in fact, necessary to survive...
But what would I know? :)
