I just uploaded a video capture of Summoning, our new Linux intro, made with @jon, released at #revision2025

You can check it on youtube https://youtu.be/4ZU8aZ17ss0
Or even better run it on Linux (with glibc) either using the SDL or X11+PulseAudio https://demozoo.org/productions/371363/

For those who followed a bit of our adventures...
Summoning, our last linux 64Kb intro released at #revision2025 was created using our new synth (re)writen again from scratch in C, and a custom usb controller/front panel.

last weeks were absolutely packed.

@dok did a fixed point rewrite of our synth and we ported it to hardware.

then @dok did this awesome pcb for the synth front panel.

note: This project started as a nord lead 2x clone, this early front panel prototype is intented as a bootstrap for future developments and will change as the synth is now evolving and diverging on its own path.

Few weeks before revision we received our pcb order

We soldered two units right away and flashed a usb firmware I wrote... it worked.

I spent the next week implementing missing functionalities to the synth and controller. It worked.

Then we created this intro with it, improving our tools and exploring our new intrument. What an adventure.

Thanks again everybody for the support and nice comments and thx again @dok, I'm so happy we made it!

@jon @dok c'est aaaarchi lourd !!
@tan_mp4 @dok merci beaucoup! on a tapé fort dans le grand hall... sur l'écran et le sound system c'était fou! trop content!
@dok @jon as far as I know you can run SDL programs natively on framebuffer. So the kernel could directly start the demo. Like the bootable demos on retro machines.
@gunstick @jon not sure if i can get an opengl context that way

@dok @jon
Honestly, apart from your demo looking and sounding really cool, I am really impressed that I can just run it on my notebooks iGPU at 2880x1800@90Hz with it only ever slightly struggling when the transparent "hull" is added! Fully intact visuals despite different resolution, aspect ratio and refresh rate (cf. the compo machine)! And it looks _really_ clean on an OLED 🤩

Also, you linked it statically, including both wayland and X11 backends, and still stayed below 32k? 🤯
