Thing of note: RFK’s purposed National Registry for Autistic individuals isn’t just eugenics BS, it’s also unconstitutional under the 4th Amendment.

I’m not a lawyer or Constitutional scholar by any means, but considering how he wants to monitor Autistic individuals, we US-ians should be responding with, “Not without a warrant!”

Pass it on, especially to lawyers!

An autism registry is scary enough in itself, not to mention that it’s actual historical Nazi shit but combined with what his people said further, it sounds like they straight up want to create a (very illegal) central repository of everyone’s records complete with whatever private data they can get their hands on including things like health app, smart watch and Fitbit data.

Basically they apparently want to take everyone’s online advertising profiles and combine them with their medical records in a central database.

@CynAq @actuallyautistic Exactly and the fact that the current administration wants to emulate the worst parts of Big Tech gives me a really nasty feeling. (More so than they have already with how they’re treating immigrants, US Citizens, and legal residents.)

Might send a letter to my House Representative and Senators later today to see if we can get some proper pushback on this.

@PromptedInk @actuallyautistic I also think everyone should call their doctors and talk about this too, maybe urge them to call lawyers and representatives on their patients’ behalf as well.

This is not only unconstitutional, it’s something that has the potential to make healthcare impossible to provide through either governmental interference or insurance obstruction.

@CynAq @PromptedInk @actuallyautistic

people have a right to not allow access to their medical records

people must sign an authorization before their records are released

any releasing entity that releases medical records without an authorization is subject to litigation

the correct answer when brain worm bobby comes calling is "FUCK OFF FASCIST"

@PromptedInk @actuallyautistic You might also want to check if you are in one of the states that already has a mandatory autism registry. That is, if you were formally diagnosed in those states, the person diagnosing you was mandated, by law, to put your name on that register. The following states already have mandatory autism registries: Delaware, Indiana, North Dakota, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Utah and West Virginia.

@Zumbador @actuallyautistic Good to know! 🙂

Sadly, I’m not surprised that some states already have such a registry in place. Feels like a by-product of the misinformation campaign(s) from an org like Autism Speaks over the years.

@PromptedInk yes I think that's accurate
