@ProPublica If you lack empathy then the only reason not to act on whatever pedophile instinct you may have is because it's "deviant", not because it's damaging to anyone. Thus the only real issue with it is getting caught. If you don't get caught, or you are untouchable, then it actually becomes a display of power. "Look at me, I can do this deviant thing and nobody will stop me or say shit. Everyone actually wants to on the down low. I can."
