We at the German Association of Doctoral Researchers (Bundesverband Promovierende e.V.) stand in solidarity with academics and researchers in the U.S. facing repression. These attacks on research and teaching freedoms are alarming and unprecedented.

Institutions must resist coercion and uphold critical thought. We call on German politicians and international organizations to act in support of academic freedom.
