@CStamp I don’t know. I got a lot of both parties are the samers complaining about student loans last year, as in “Biden didn’t do anything.” Which was some high-level bullshit.

@TonyStark Less likely doesn't mean non impacted, just a lot fewer. The demographics of the voting showed that those with high school or less were a lot more likely to vote red. Maybe enough will be affected that they'll care?

So now shoplifting = condemned to a life of slavery. In a "liberal" state.

When past governors include Reagan and the Terminator, it seems to me that liberals should be more active politically.

@mls14 @Donatella @CStamp Yeah, people should always vote and vote pragmatically. It’s a tool for getting things you want to have or preserve or avoid.

Even in the case of California and a presidential election, which I shared in an earlier reply to this, it would have been great to have Harris win the whole country’s popular vote at least. It would make the opposition to Trump message more effective that it is right now.

The votes aren’t wastable.

@Donatella @TonyStark @CStamp Yes I think that makes sense. But most people who disliked Harris didn’t protest vote. They just skipped the election. That’s my worry. We see it in gerrymandered “red” states. Everybody knows the result is a foregone conclusion, so the liberals stay home. The conservatives still vote because… it feels good to vote for the winner right? And they have been threatened by Fox News for 50 years that rural white folks are under attack so they can never skip an election.

Meanwhile the people who are ACTUALLY under attack wait until the 💩 hits the fan to show up for one election, then they assume it’s all better and skip the next 2. So crazy.

My state is full of MAGA folks, so my vote was statistically irrelevant (Trump fans outnumber other voters in the Southeast).

Yeah, we are not even 6 bloody months into the Trump 2.0 Presidency & we are already hemorrhaging on almost every front in the federal government.

@billd I dont agree. My opinion is that if the Democrats want to portray themselves as the defenders of "democracy" then they should have had a primary. Shoulda let people get behind a candidate. In 2020 Harris lost her own fathers joke by saying offensive things about jamaicans. She dropped out of that primary before any votes were cast. Which is crazy because the whole thing wrapped up in March because covid happened and she didnt even last to March. And then in 2016 you have democrats saying under oath at court "we are a private organization and we have no obligation to run a fair primary."

Like, I get it, I have heard the theories you are talking about. I do know Trump voters. I am related to them. I know nonvoters. They will talk your ear off about the electoral college.
