Today, the world mourns the passing of Pope Francis.

He inspired millions, far beyond the Catholic Church, with his humility and love so pure for the less fortunate.

Our thoughts are with all who feel this profound loss.

May they find solace in the idea that Pope Francis’ legacy will continue to guide us all toward a more just, peaceful and compassionate world.

@EUCommission please don't forget his last message, do not produce or buy other weapons. #NoMoreWeapons

@migbox @EUCommission No, we NEED to produce our own weapons and many at that.
With the US slowly withdrawing more and more from Europe, we absolutely need this to ensure our national armies (and hopefully soon also an EU army) are equipped to the point it'll work as proper deterrent in place of US.

Russia (and China to a lesser degree) only understands Great Power politics.

@Kethianna @EUCommission to all the people who are contesting my post:
Any opinion is welcome, but if you are sorrow for Pope Francis ' death, you have to reflect and respect his message.
And of course do all that you can to make it possible.
All things are impossible until someone proves all they are.

@migbox @EUCommission I respect Pope Fracis' death and his messages, and believe quite a few of them were good, though not all.

Here he's right, but there's also something called time and place. Now isn't the time to NOT re-arm. Turning the cheek to something may be the right thing to do normally, but against bullies it's sadly something that only invites further violence.

We can start downsizing our militaries again once Putin's gone and someone who wants peace are in charge of Russia.
