Now is not the time to be saying stuff like this, especially when a pretty big historical religious figure just died. This is absolutely extremely insensitive. Talking about binary biological sex in a conversation where someone literally just died is extremely inappropriate. You can have talks about your own beliefs in a different conversation now is not the time.

With the US slowly withdrawing more and more from Europe, we absolutely need this to ensure our national armies (and hopefully soon also an EU army) are equipped to the point it'll work as proper deterrent in place of US.
Russia (and China to a lesser degree) only understands Great Power politics.

Here he's right, but there's also something called time and place. Now isn't the time to NOT re-arm. Turning the cheek to something may be the right thing to do normally, but against bullies it's sadly something that only invites further violence.
We can start downsizing our militaries again once Putin's gone and someone who wants peace are in charge of Russia.
@EUCommission He didn't inspire me. He made me feel disgusted at the depth of his covering up of sexual abuse in my country France, all around the Union, and all over the world. His progressive veneer was hardly convincing.
The Commission should not glorify the memory of a man whose acts and institution stand against our Convention on Human Rights along with numerous citizens of the EU, particularly LGBT+ people, survivors of sexual abuse, and women at large.
I understand why you may not believe the same things that Pope Francis believes in, but the fact that you're commenting this on a post talking about his death and how he just died a couple hours ago is extremely insensitive. On top of that, this is also extremely offensive to one of the biggest religions on the face of the Earth. Do better.
