A successful Young Eagles rally at 79C this morning! The clouds lifted and we had four aircraft going. I flew 8 total and all 8 had never been on a small plane before. It was a challenging crosswind at Brennand since the runway isn't very wide, but I had some great landings.

@WiredForFlight It sure is! A real skill test!

@Aut @WiredForFlight 30ft, whew! My usual one is 45m/150ft, and the narrowest one I’ve landed so far was still 20m/60ft.

Are 30ft common on these small fields?

@morre @Aut Oh they must have made it wider when they redid the runway last. When I was there last it was 20ft lol

No, 30 is still very narrow. 50ft is more common for short runways.

The place I teach C29 is 100ft so nice and wide.

@WiredForFlight @Aut 100 sounds nice. I’m super comfortable with 60 too.

My usual 150 are a bit of a luxury, since my home base is a „regional“ airport.

(Quotes, since it does serve international flights, but German bureaucracy or whatnot)

@morre @WiredForFlight My home airport runways are 150 feet (45 meters) wide so this is quite the difference.
