Müller: A Free 18th Century Cartography Brush Set for Fantasy Maps

In the early 18th century, Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI charged Johann Christoph Müller to produce an "authentic and complete" map of the kingdom of Bohemia. Being no slouch, Müller's end result was a massive work, done at a 1:132,000 scale and eventually engraved on twenty-five sheets by Michael Kauffer and Jan Daniel Herz, most likely in Berlin. Hey, #fantasy cartographers, writers, and gamemasters! Today I am releasing MÜLLER, my latest FREE cartography brush set for Photoshop/GIMP/Affinity/Etc, to help you create high-quality custom maps for your projects.
In the early 18th century, Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI commissioned Johann Christoph Müller to create an “authentic and complete” map of the Kingdom of Bohemia. Today’s set takes its name from the cartographer himself.
Combining elements of flora with natural landforms, the set is rich with intricate iconographic details—marking everything from travel destinations to sources of raw materials. A great set if you’re looking to channel a Baroque aesthetic of the early 18th century.

Somehow, this has become my second biggest set. Over 1500 brushes. So there’s plenty to pick and choose from.

As with all my other sets, Müller is distributed under a CC0 license, which means it's free for personal or commercial work. No attribution is required!

Here's the sample map I made using this set.
Müller also launches with a separate pack of individual PNGs. It should make life much easier for you #Wonderdraft users. No more extracting symbols from an enormous PNG!

As always, for a guide on how to use these sets (it's not complicated; they work like rubber stamps—point and click), you can check out this blog post:
