Remember when I said in my earlier post that we were getting a week of rain? Welp, it *was* raining but it is currently lovely and warm, the windows are wide open and there are some blackbirds singing outside in the distance. More news at 10. 😂

Thank you! 🥺 I actually took the picture because I was looking for a door for Doorsday and I wanted to take one of the door at the very end of the alley and well, in a stroke of luck - this happened! 😂 I still need to find a door for you though! 😂♥️✨

Oooh, I found so many great doors during my trip last week and also have some from Magdeburg and from previous years. Cantwaitcantwaitcantwait! My parents are currently on holiday in Madeira and my mum showed me sooo many lovely doors! Apparently there is a neighbourhood or street in Funchal that is very famous for its colourful doors?! How awesome is that! And I'm not there 😫

The problem is I didn't actually take a photo of the door in the end. 😂 I just checked - I took 8 photos, they're in 4 of them and this would have been the 5th photo taken. I didn't know they were going to be in the photo! I though that side was empty!

Wow, very economical photo taking! 🏆 My motto is "better be safe than sorry". Why take only 5 photos when you can take 50? 50 that are impossible to tell apart, but have one thing in common: something is missing or blurry or tilted or messy ... 😂

You know, if you can pass through, it's a door - simples! 😀 So arches, doorways, portals ... Doorsday welcomes all with open ... doors!

I am just impatient! 😂 That's also why I'm not a wildlife photographer - I'm not waiting around. 😂
At least you have things to work with too! I'll see what I can do! I have collected a lot of windows but I'm always lacking in doors. 😂 But, for the decree we will persevere! 🫡✨

I'm sure you will find one! You have so many old buildings and churches, and, uh, houses, there will be a door or two! 🙃 Speaking of churches, I've seen some really quirky door handles on some of them (quirky as in very detailed scenery and shapes)! Is that a thing in your area too? I will add them whenever I post the corresponding door 🙂

Yeah but like a *special* door! I'll figure out something! 😂 Oh Gosh, I haven't noticed really - I'll check out some of the churches when I pass them - but nothing springs to mind right now! I've seen a couple on houses but I don't remember any on churches! ✨

You're right, this calls for a professional excursion to the most beautiful doors in the world: Dublin and Funchal are on top of the list. 🫡 ("I hate business trips! All you see are airports, railway stations, and doors!")

Right? 😂 I remember when I first moved here and I was like "oh wow this weather is wonderful so much better than Ireland" as if I didn't think winer or rain in general didn't apply to Italy for some reason! 😂
