2/ Since March 4, 2020 I've been collecting and analyzing data about how cities around the world responding to the changing demand for street space brought on by the #COVID19 pandemic. This piece, from a DOT-sponsored study, was the first major study of #COVIDstreets in my home state.

3/ The timing is inadvertantly prescient: we submitted our final report the same day #HurricaneHelene was pummelling western #NorthCarolina. The lessons we learned about the role of adaptable streets in building local resilience have never been more important to transportation #planning.

4/ This past weekend was my first trip back to my beloved #WNC as a tourist since #Helene. There's a lot I have yet to process, but there's one observation I'm struggling to shake. When we build back, we build back exactly the same.
