Whew. I have repotted this exact Venus Flytrap (it started as a single one a few years ago) several times now into larger pots, but this was the first repotting with division as it needed it. I thought it was still dormant (it wasn't). The rhizomes look very healthy and so does the rest of the plant but it might be set back a bit this year, so not totally sure yet if they will still flower this season.

@plants getting it out of the pot with minimal disturbance was extra hard this year (Flytraps tend to move when awake as the traps are active, and it was rootbound). For untangling the roots I used a kebob skewer and I ended up using a spudger from my phone repair kit to loosen it on the sides of the pot and nudge the individual plants from below. It actually worked.
@mfeilner the stick. The skinny ones that look like spaghetti.
@chillicampari Your last message really is one of those that need context. Awesome wording. Almost lyrical. mfeilner the stick. The skinny ones. That look like spaghetti.
Take away the context, and you have literature.
@chillicampari Very cute! I think I am going to buy some myself soon. Can they be held outside as well?
@JayMX yep! They actually prefer it. They like full sun in the growing season and protection in the winter in freezing zones. I usually keep them outside all of the time but moving them inside at night for the next few weeks during the transitional weather until the temperature is above freezing.

@JayMX this is the setup I used this last year (24-25) https://layer8.space/@chillicampari/113493248458810096

and the year before (23-24) https://layer8.space/@chillicampari/111353266762817149

They did a lot better with the outdoor setup.

Attached: 4 images For this year's winter dormancy of the temperate carnivorous plants (zone 7b) I am trying a balcony setup with portable greenhouses. The left one is packed with mulch under the netting. I've done it indoors before in an unheated storage room with wintering lights, but there isn't enough space this year. I'll probably modify this as I go along and I need to find a better anchoring system than the bungee cords. #CarnivorousPlants #SavageGarden #Plants @[email protected]
