Yesterday, 1,400 protests were held to protest the Trump whose headlines fill this page. But to the #BrokenTimes this morning, they are a buried BTW. It has plenty of photos; none here. This is what they call "news judgment." To the Times, we are not news.

@jeffjarvis it's so funny at outside observer on the nyt app - all the comments on there seem to be anti trump, but clearly the actual news articles they are serving don't represent their online following at all. I tend to only read the trump critical articles, which do exist, but clearly this is not priority to them. To be fair, I think critical papers will be elected from the press room, so it is the trade off of staying in the loop and deep throating the boot

It could be a mere statistical effect linked to the interface :

People often comment to oppose elements of the article or provide nuance.

An article giving you the expected analysis just attracts 'boosts', which NYT interface doesn't provide.
