"[graphic artist Rebecca] Burke had arrived in the US during the Biden administration, only to become one of 32,809 people to be arrested by Ice during the first 50 days of Donald Trump’s presidency. Since February, several young foreign nationals have been incarcerated in Ice detention centres for seemingly little reason and held for weeks, including Germans Lucas Sielaff, Fabian Schmidt and Jessica Brösche."

A few weeks ago someone was calling out decisions to continue holding international tech conferences in the US. I didn't understand why. Now I do.

It just occurred to me that the international community could boycott imports from the US, or refuse to exports to it. But the specifics need thinking through. Like;

* what changes would be considered sufficient to declare an end to the tactic?

* How could it targeted at the oligarchs siding with the Orange Stalin regime, rather than making it even harder for ordinary USAmericans to make ends meet?
