The arkenfox project is a thing (though they should really move to Codeberg or Sourcehut or something), and there is a guide to Firefox hardening. Still not perfect, but an improvement. Privacy-oriented Firefox derivatives like LibreWolf are also a great idea, but their future is more uncertain, as they don’t have anywhere near the development resources of Mozilla.
