The Russians have run out of steam. They were trying to create a pincher around Pokrovsk in the Donetsk Oblast, but now Ukraine is pushing the left side back.
We are seeing similar development near Toretsk to the north east of Pokrovsk, and this makes me wonder, if Putin has drained too much resources from this area to reinforce Kursk, or if this is caused by the long-term effects of Russia's plethora of logistics problems and high losses.
Something is afoot.
