Yesterday I saw Devin Townsend, my favourite musician.
Performing his show The Moth. I am an moth and butterfly enthusiast.
Yesterday was my birthday.
Best. Birthday. EVER.
There was the band itself, there was a choir, there was an orchestra and a conducter. And screens with stunning, sometimes very frightening or scary images.
Everyone one stage was on point, along with the visuals.
I went with my best friend, I met friends from Germany, made new friends from well, all over the world.. The vibes were just (although I don't like the word) 'wholesome'.
What an unique event.
And as a bonus, the drummer handed me personally his drum stick.
And as a SUPER bonus, I had little chat with Devin.
James (from UK) stood next to me and shouted; "DEVIN! IT'S HIS BIRTHDAY!"
That got Dev's attention;
"Is it your birthday?!"
Me; "Yeah, just like 10 years ago! In Eindhoven when you sang 'happy birthday' with the DTP!"
Dev; "I remember! I never forgot a /your beard!".
And we chatted a bit about the show (The Moth). It had a huge impact on me and I told him I was crying during the first 10 minutes. "So did I", he replied.
Last few months were very stressful, due to personal stuff. I felt so grateful for the whole day, meeting friends, talking to people, people who said 'happy birthday'. So all sorts of emotions, but overall very, very thankful 💖
