Late afternoon light on the Seine in Paris. #paris #france #jazz #march #artistinportugal #weekinparis #jonathankeeton
Reminds me to Île St. Louis, but the bridge doesn‘t match - where was it taken?
@poldemo that there is the Passerelle Léopold-Sédar-Senghor. I had to look for it on the map when I got back.
@Jlkeeton I don't know how you do it, but I'm in constant admiration for how you have major areas of your photos that are dark, yet still show all the details.
@bosquebill thank you! I always shoot RAW then use lightroom to lift up the shadows and lower the highlights. by now it's become standard operating procedure...
@Jlkeeton I do essentially the same, though in ACR, but don't seem to be able to achieve the balance that you do. Perhaps I have too heavy a hand lifting the shadows. I'm going to endeavor to do better in future.
@bosquebill hey, what is ACR? I also shoot either 2/3 or a full stop under, since (IMO) digital cameras can't handle highlights.
@Jlkeeton Adobe Camera Raw. It came with Photoshop pre Lightroom. Yeah, I learned to underexpose when shooting white birds. Raw has saved my bacon many times. In fact I rarely exposure bracket anymore.
