@Jlkeeton I don't know how you do it, but I'm in constant admiration for how you have major areas of your photos that are dark, yet still show all the details.
@bosquebill thank you! I always shoot RAW then use lightroom to lift up the shadows and lower the highlights. by now it's become standard operating procedure...
@Jlkeeton I do essentially the same, though in ACR, but don't seem to be able to achieve the balance that you do. Perhaps I have too heavy a hand lifting the shadows. I'm going to endeavor to do better in future.
@Jlkeeton Adobe Camera Raw. It came with Photoshop pre Lightroom. Yeah, I learned to underexpose when shooting white birds. Raw has saved my bacon many times. In fact I rarely exposure bracket anymore.
