And if you're wondering, yes there is good charging ability all the way through BC now and into Yukon as far as Dawson City. AFter that, on the Dempster Highway, it would only be two more stops to Tuk, all would require slow-charging on a standard 120V plug (24-48hrs) but hey, it'd just be part of the experience :)
Maybe by the time I get up there they'll have some L2 (240V) chargers to cut the wait time down to just overnight.
🚲@chris I’ve said this before but I think they should create solar panel + battery chargers that are containerized and can be hauled on the back of a semi, dropped down on a gravel pull off, totally off grid. You’d need to run the numbers on expected traffic insolation etc but I’m sure there are some roads where it would make sense
@dx In the 24hr sun of the north I have no doubt it could work! Especially if the containers/semi trailers doors could "flatten” with the panels on the inside! They could easily host 2-3KW of panels each.
