If you use eBay, they’ve just updated their T&Cs to say that they may train generative models (AI) on your personal data. Opt out here, if you’re in the EEA, UK or Switzerland: https://accountsettings.ebay.co.uk/ai-preferences
Al development and training preferences

@danfairs bounced to Bluesky if that's ok.
@danfairs (The setting is present on eBay .au too, but it's unclear if turning it off has any ramifications. Turned it off anyway.)
@danfairs It would be funny if it weren't... I can't click the button to opt out. Seriously.
@tomchadwin Oof. FWIW I did it on mobile Safari, and I was logged into eBay.
@danfairs All sorted - it was the old "Hello user, you're logged in. Are you logged in? Maybe you're not logged in. You're not actually logged in." Thanks for the link.
@danfairs It's the utter bullshit of the email heading that gets me. My first thought on seeing it in my inbox was "I bet they're handing it to AI" which prompted me to immediately go and find the off switch 🤬
@danfairs Thanks for the link! Opted out now.
@danfairs I wonder if this is why I'm getting bizarre unrelated listing recommendations now?
@danfairs Now we gotta worry about AI in online shopping too now.
@danfairs if a buyer opts out but a seller doesn't, is the buyer's purchasing data used?
@danfairs Worked for me after replacing .co.uk with .com - Are there any hints about how to navigate there by "normal" means?
@danfairs Und für ebay.de nimmt man folgenden Link:
