UK proposes Western peacekeeping mission of 10,000 troops in Ukraine

The proposed contingent would include around 10,000 troops, mostly provided by the U.K. and France, U.K. military sources told the Sunday Times. Thirty-five countries would assist with weapons, logistics, and intelligence support.

#KFOR, which was deployed in Kosovo to deter Serbia, started with the deployment of about 50.000 troops.

@elCelio I believe the task will be different, to secure the rear to free up Ukrainians for the front.

@ukrdef This is roughly 1 soldier every 100 m of the front line. Not enough. Ukraine needs 20 times more.

@Loungagna Peacekeepers need to be in the rear to secure and protect military facilities as well as cities. This would free up a lot of Ukrainians that could then do other tasks. This should have happened a long time ago but it’s good that the bowl is rolling now.
