Better buy a chicken. Here in Germany you even can rent chicken, with food, stable and a manual.
Of course they want to see your ID and they want a deposit for the chicken, to make sure you will not eat it. 
For example here, but there are more rent a chicken companies here.

Retepkce 🐈@greensoulbuddy @catflyhigh @davidho the reason for egg shortage is mainly the Bird flu and the possibility of transmission to mamals. So chicken will get killed by authorities in case of an outbreak. Keep that in mind for your plans.
