Spent a few hours in town with the #YashicaMAT124 today. Decided to rely solely on the built-in meter which makes dialing in settings for the exposure mostly a snap. Negative density looks pretty good, I think. #TriX400 with #Rodinal - hope to have time to scan tomorrow. I wish I knew how much of the frame is metered - I tried to meter for the shadows and recompose on shots with a lot of range.

@kaiser_photo The negs look good. I’ve found the meter on my 124G does a pretty good job.
@tomnorthfilm I used it for a few pictures on that first roll I put through it a while back and they came out decent, so it seemed worth the risk. I was a bit nervous pulling the first roll out of the tank!
@kaiser_photo My backup meter is either the 35mm camera I often have with me or the My Light Meter Pro app on my iPhone. If I’m questioning the 124G reading I can always take another reading. On my most recent roll in the 124G, however, I relied completely on the in camera meter. It didn’t let me down. This from the “As-Is” camera with a supposedly non working meter.
@tomnorthfilm I will be curious to see what happens as the battery ages/drains, eventually I will want to get one of those little voltage regulator adapters.
@kaiser_photo These are the MR-9 adapters I use. https://www.ebay.com/itm/256835472473
Kanto Camera MR-9 Mercury Battery Adapter Converts 1.5V to 1.35V | eBay

Japanese-made Kanto adapter uses common SR43 battery to fit into a camera that uses the 625 battery size, and reduces the voltage to the recommended 1.35V.

@tomnorthfilm thanks! I’ve added this to my watchlist to scoop up later
