Or are the accusations of Peer @heinleinsupport wrong?
@mfeilner @Karlitschek @nextcloud @heinleinsupport
This is really just foul play by #NextCloud.
I was about to rent a NextCloud server by one of your sponsors.
I will not do that, because I do not want to support such a bully behavior.
Shame on you!
@thoralf @Karlitschek @nextcloud @heinleinsupport
To me, this sounds funny or weird. What a coincidence. I wonder if anybody ever heard of open cloud for nextcloud anywhere before the fork to opencloud.
I am deep inside that matter, and nobody I know heard that ever anywhere before the new opencloud offer came out. To me it seems different, but we will see. Get some more popcorn, folks!
@thoralf @Karlitschek @nextcloud @heinleinsupport
I wonder if @Karlitschek will be available for an interview about all of this for me. I am preparing an article on the history of #owncloud, and I am starting to see patterns here. I sincerely hope I am wrong.
@thoralf @Karlitschek @nextcloud @heinleinsupport
What I also do not understand is how @OpenCloud
by @heinleinsupport could harm #nextcloud" โ "to create confusion and to benefit from our name and reputation, because our offer can be found with a very quick search." sounds so far off from my reality.
And saying something like that lacks so much understanding of what I think is #opensource. Am I wrong? To me that all seems like a move that was motivated by emotion rather than business ratio.
๐ฟ ๐ฟ ๐ฟ ๐ฟ Peer has answered, seems like Frank really lost this game. Wow.
It's always a bad idea to take legal action first and then talk, but some can't be nice.
"Apart from that, we have a very cooperative and friendly relationship with HKN/ScaleUp. And Marco from HKN/ScaleUp is fine with it and sees no conflict here that tarnishes our friendship. Oh well. Instead, this little incident has revived our friendship with HKN in a nice way, we have had many good conversations."
