Would you help a poor single-user Friendica server admin out and boost this post?

Boosting will increase the number of servers my server federates with.

EDIT: that is probably not exactly how it works, but it kinda depends on which of the myriad of ActivityPub servers is seeing the boost, and I haven't checked all of them on how they decide what to pull in. For sure, having someone follow an account on the friendica server will have that friendica server push updates to the server of the follower, but other than that? Who knows :)

Thanks for the overwhelming amount of boosts anyway, and thanks to those following :)

@gmc that’s unfortunately an urban legend: it doesn’t help you, other than getting followed by people who see the boost (manually), which an intro post does much better.

(And actually filling out one’s profile.)

@vextaur Yep, I've got some fedibuzz relays I subscribe to, but I think those are one-way only. And I've subscribed to fedi-relay.gyptazy.com. Any others I should check out that you can recommend?

@gmc It really comes down to what kind of content you want, I use:

mastodon-relay.thedoodleprojec…
relay.asonix.dog/actor
relay.tiggi.es/actor

But those might not be to your tasted, but relaylist.com/ is a good source.

Unfortunately boosting doesn't help by itself (except to spread the post being boosted) but follows are really useful 🙂

I clicked on your link at @gmc
But my instance is very protective, and lots of sites are blocked. I can also find you on friendica through a browser, but I only see followers, not post counts. https://friends.chasmcity.net/profile/gmc/profile

It's the weird way posts slowly populate through the network. Different people see different post counts depending on their hosts connections and bounces.

I enjoy being sheltered here, but post miscounts are annoying.

There is this relay created by @astro that I think helps bringing content to you: https://relay.fedi.buzz/
Not sure if it is useful bringing your content around as well.

@kurau @astro I'm subscribed to a number of hash tags on the fedibuzz relay indeed, works great to pull in content. I've also 'donated' tokens for both my Mastodon and Friendica server, which helps them pull in my content as well and distribute it again.

@kurau If you go to fedi.buzz/ then on the top-right you'll see a little banner that asks for donating a token, which goes here: fedi.buzz/token/donate - basically, if you give them a token, they can query your server for content and throw that in the mix for those that subscribe to the relay.
