various people been saying this for a while but it cannot be overstated how much using ai art on your podcast/blog/slides/etc visually associates you with fascism https://newsocialist.org.uk/transmissions/ai-the-new-aesthetics-of-fascism/
AI: The New Aesthetics of Fascism

It's embarrassing, destructive, and looks like shit: AI-generated art is the perfect aesthetic form for the far right.

@jcoglan i think that's in the eye of the beholder... When I see a PhD student do a presentation about sleeping habits of mice or whatever and they have an ai generated image of a sleeping computer mouse, I think accusing them of sympathizing with fascism is a bit much...
@miturian @jcoglan When I see someone use AI in a context like that I don't immediately assume they're a fascist either, but I do think of them as dangerously uncritical of a technology that disproportionately benefits fascists to an extreme degree. It's also short-sighted for a researcher to promote use of plagiarism machines like that. I wonder how those PhD. students would feel seeing their research results attributed to ChatGPT?
