Hoo-hoo that smell
Can't you smell that smell?
Hoo-hoo that smell
The smell of death around you (yeah)
Apple's modem group has quite the history.
They were part of Infineon Technologies.
They were sold to Intel in 2015.
In Intel, They released many products, the last being the modem for the iPhone 11 (Pro, Max, etc) and the SE2.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_XMM_modems
Then Apple bought them in 2019.
So they've been working on modems for more than the last 10 years.
I guess I won't be able to do this with the iPhone 17 Pro (at least, not as cleanly).
Attached: 1 image I find it mildly disappointing that the rumours for the iPhone 17 means any future version of this mashup will need to take more artistic license. Here's the OG iPhone with the iPhone 16 Pro camera bump.
I'd love to know why the wider camera bump wouldn't be used to increase the stereoscopic recording distance between the lenses.
Attached: 1 image if the Vision Pro is successful, I wonder if Apple will make future iPhones better at recording 3D video (aka Spatial Video). Given the shape of the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple certainly has some choices. Spreading the cameras across the width of the device will not reach normal human inter-pupillary distance (maxing out at about 45mm), but would even out the camera bump. Apple could match the average human eyes by extending the camera system down the length of the device. Why not both?
@atpfm You can make a future ATP Overtime—preferably a really juicy one—available for everyone, as an Ad to the membership.
And you should call it ATP Overtime Contingency Protocol
@siracusa: “Please rate my app 5 stars or they’ll kill my family.”
@caseyliss: “4 it is.”
Genuinely the funniest thing said on this show, at least that I can remember.
