Happy Birthday Mac OS X! I was a Windows 2000 switcher and full time OS X user since Mac OS X 10.1 Puma. I have never looked back. OS X has its ups and downs, probably peaking around macOS 10.14 Mojave. But between a super consistent UI, unix underpinning, and Cocoa development environment, its still my favorite all around OS.

I still think its funny that in the early 2000's we were so happy to have "multiuser" systems like OSX so that 1 computer could be shared by multiple people.

Little did we know that 20 years later, we would have the opposite problem, with 1 person needing to use 5 OSX computers all at once (Personal iPhone, Work iPhone, Apple Watch, Personal Laptop, Work Laptop, etc)

Thanks to everyone at Apple over the years that has made all this technology possible! ❤️

I left YouTube two years ago. Time to come back.

Out of curiosity, and since not so many people tried to use #kagi to #translate *from* #LinkedIn speak to English, I decided to test it on an actual LinkedIn post on my feed (happens to be one using "AI" to replace interns): https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7438083732978425856/ . As is the case with nondeterministic LLMs, running on the same text gives me different output each time, which makes it critically unsuitable for translation, but there is irony in feeding that pro-AI crap back at them using the "AI" they love most.

I want to highlight two fun bits from this week’s episode of @atpfm https://atp.fm/683

First, we put the “hands on” into our very touchy-feely report about the MacBook Neo (starts at 24:00)

But the real star of the episode is @marcoarment’s amazing story of how he, as a lone developer, created a transcripts feature for @overcastfm to compete with the similar feature in Apple Podcasts. You do not want to miss this one. (starts at 54:46)
