@Spidershowers no, that's not the case here. A link to a toot on jazztodon.com ( a #Mastodon instance ) results in a preview containing the picture attached to that toot, a link to a post on pixelfed.de ( a #Pixelfed instance ) does not.
It sounds pretty lame, for a picture oriented social, doesn't it ?
I believe previews are driven by html meta tags specified by the #OpenGraph document by Meta, as I saw that working with #Faircamp recently ( it has support for that )
