But when stuff like basic research and public goods come up, can't seem to help myself. I'm sure others feel the same way about pandemics and safety nets, so that if they break there can be some shared understanding. But trying to communicate nuance or educate on social media (especially with what Elon has turned the site into) is like fighting entropy.

Artemysia@davidho I worry about long-term projects being interrupted and data lost. ... research put back years, careers stalled or ruined ... and the knock-on effect. Just hoping overseas research bodies might pick up some of it. It's horrendous. The ignorance is mindblowing.
