Surely this new video won't make me seem like a crank.

Algorithms are breaking how we think

YouTube
@TechConnectify Holy shit... I'm so glad, I don't feel alone in this, even though I wasn't really able to put my finger on it.
There are more insights, I had in the last years, that relate to your topic. But for reasons, I have to elaborate later.
@TechConnectify So, usually I'm a mostly subscription-type user of YT, in a way, that I use subs for channels I really care about. Most those came to me through recommendations, made by people, or because they were trending at the right time.
What I noticed, though, is that I recently creeped a bit too much into the algorithmic stream of YouTube, bc certain videos are great for playing alongside playing video games. It can lead to interesting stuff, but mostly it leads to slop.
@TechConnectify Also, breaking away from Twitter was a very fulfilling, but also hard move, because I learned so much new stuff (like basics of running a web server and such. I'm still proud that I was able to set up my own instance). Because I was fighting thooth and nail on Twitter to keep my chronological feed, the technical adjustment to Mastodon was smooth. The social adjustment was messy, though (as you know already).
@TechConnectify That being said, there were so many instances, where I was internally screaming "Use your f*ing brains, goddammit!", but your thoughts add some more facets to problems I encounter...
