“He who saves his Country does not violate any law,” Donald Trump said yesterday.

Two possible reactions:

1) Continue on the trajectory that got us here in the first place by discarding this as “just Trump being Trump”

2) Grapple in earnest with the fact that Trump asserts dictatorial power as the providential leader tasked with saving the nation.

This is acutely dangerous.

@tzimmer_history Even if its trump being trump, that doesn't mean we should put up with it. That is more of a reason to get him out of power in my opinion and to derail any awful plans he has.

Its like I once said to someone about the republican party, I am not even sure they are hypocrites anymore doing what they do. Because that is the republican platform itself, hypocrisy.

That is platform they have striven for, so even if they considered hypocrites individually, it doesn't change what their platform is:

A huge double standard and a dumpster fire fueled by an inferno of evil
