We're learning more about the crack team at DOGE from DOGEwhisperer over at Bsky:

https://bsky.app/profile/dogginglover.bsky.social/post/3lid446df4224

Specifically, about Christopher Stanley, former Senior Director for Security Engineering at X and Principal Security Engineer at SpaceX, now serves as a Musk aide at DOGE with a White House role.

"Also known as Unh0ly, enKrypt, or Reneg4d3—the former owner of Error33[.]net, a warez and hacking forum, and theC0re, a video game cheating community. His 2011 personal website r00tyou[.]com prominently featured the n-word on the front page."

"'Christopher’s (or enKrypt’s) biggest hacking claim to fame came in 2015 when he hacked LizardStresser, a DDoS tool affiliated with Lizard Squad. He provided the dumped database to Brian Krebs, which led to him and his family being targeted and doxxed by the group."

My reporting in 2015 didn't name Stanley as the source, but he outed himself by posting a video of the LizardStresser hack to his eNKrypt Youtube channel, and soon was targeted with swatting attacks.

@briankrebs FFS what kind of reverse HR does Musk run in his companies? I'm not on X but I wouldn't want to go into space with that lot.🤢

@annehargreaves Yes, let's talk about how #EmperorM seems to be cross-hiring across his companies as if it was "one" company.

Some EEOC violations here?

@ShrikeTron I'm in UK so I'm not up to speed on the detail. What impresses me is the calibre of people he seems to be hiring. Hackers with dubious backgrounds & even shadier ethics.

@annehargreaves Ah I see (re UK).

Companies post job openings neutrally without bias. Hiring "white-hats" for skills is acceptable, but not for aligning with CEO's specific ethics.

It's a conflict of interest when the hiring manager has a prior relationship with candidates, or when candidates are closely tied to company leadership.

Background checks are expected to flag such connections to ensure fair, "and equitable" hiring practices.

@ShrikeTron I'd be fine with hiring ex-black hats but I wouldn't put them on a sensitive government job until they had earned a track record.
@annehargreaves @briankrebs it's very 'Stark'. Trapped with each other they'd prefer to go out the airlock.
@briankrebs
A functional government would use the fact that this guy is "Principal Security Engineer at SpaceX" as a reason to cancel their contracts. I realize that's not what we have, but it's still worth pointing out. There's just no way their security is up to standards with Reneg4d3 on the job.
@briankrebs What do you know! Another dogebag!
@briankrebs
Why are these agency's letting theses clowns in the door without a warrant and security clearance from that agency. WTF, at least try to fight back.

@briankrebs

People who would have been unhireable by any reputable company or government agency, ...
...suddenly granted access to your bank accounts, medical records, & tax returns AND those of every friend & family member you ever had...

The "freedom party" is a bad joke in every sense.

I made this custom for this reply

Who elected President Musk?

@briankrebs You need to do an update to your 2015 posting on your website, which is more widely read than Mastodon (no disrespect intended). This kind of background is not supposed to be found in White House staffers, but the glaring error may slip by if it is swept under the carpet.
@sig_ug Actually, I'm starting to think these guys were hired because of not in spite of their views, past actions, etc.
@briankrebs @sig_ug
It certainly does look that way.
