Man Trump supporters won’t quit huh?
I say it again and again, and I cant wrap my head around hos nobody would agree or straight up kill for this belief.

Devastating…
an American permutation of the CCP’s WeChat app model where the American government has final and singular authority to monitor and surveil all payments, domestic travel and communications of American citizens.
I know things are defcon level insane, but reading that, the as is way they phrase and apply the terms, by someone with that specific set of skills, makes things sound (they are) so much more malicious.
Welcome to America 2.0 : death to america, hello network state.
Didn’t the MAGA insurrection use Signal to coordinate their efforts?
Wait wait…yes, follow dear leader to an app that keeps your history and doesn’t encrypt at rest. You have nothing to hide and nothing to fear.
Signal is person to person messaging with groups on the side (ala WhatsApp)
Matrix is groups with person to person on the side (ala Discord)
You use Simplex over Signal for improved privacy and no identifiers, not Matrix.
Signal is still very good though.
It literally is the most secure way to communicate out there, period.
It’s the most secure reasonably popular and user friendly way to communicate. By having unique identifiers and a central server a determined state actor could still figure out who is chatting with whom, and when (but the content of the messages is secure)
There are other protocols out there, like SimpleX or Briar, but they operate on a threat profile way beyond most people need, and they are less intuitive than Signal
It’s more private and secure, and it’s easier to use/recommend.
Matrix stores all metadata, and most all of it makes it’s way to the matrix.org (default instance) server and is subject to dragnet subpoenas. It’s also complicated to use, incredibly slow, and resource-intensive.
Absolutist… ish
