Marie 🇸🇪This cult of youth says a lot about our fears, our priorities & perhaps our illusions. The obsession with youth, I would argue, reflects a deep-rooted fear of aging & mortality & no less importantly, a denial of the natural cycle of life. It also reveals a culture that equates beauty, energy & newness with value, often at the expense of wisdom, depth & experience ->
-> At the same time, it may be a distraction – an easy way to focus on the surface to avoid deeper, more pressing issues like inequality, environmental degradation or the fragility of our mental well-being (which is also reinforced by this superficiality). If we put half as much energy into cultivating character, compassion & sustainability as we do into chasing eternal youth, well 🤷🏻♀️
