[Bug] Editing a post body and saving it doesn't refresh the post. Editing it a second time edits theboriginal version. - Lemmy.World

This issue has bitten me several times. I’ll make an edit to fix a couple of typos that I saw immediately after posting, and then I’ll see something else or want to add some more context. So I’ll edit the post again, but it edits the contents of the original post, therefore I put back in all my typos! When it first happened, I thought I was going crazy and ended up going back and forth, fixing the same two typos over and over! 😂 For a test, I’m going to edit this post to add the text, “first edit”. Then I’m going to edit it again after 10 seconds to add the words “second edit”. Second edit.

I resresh after the edit.
I do, too, now, but I feel we shouldn’t have to. Clicking “Edit” should at least request the newest version if the post doesn’t refresh automatically. But I really think it should.
Thanks for pointing this out and for the detailed explanation! Can you open up a new GitHub issue on this linking to this post so that we are able to track it? Thanks!
