If you take Canadian oil out of the equation, Canada actually has a trade deficit, and the U.S. has a surplus — of $58 billion.

We supply oil to the USA to ensure North American energy independence, so North America can never again be held hostage by OPEC countries.

How f*cking DARE Trump spin this to his gullible followers to make Canada appear to be taking advantage.

Every democracy in the world needs to stand with Canada against Trump, Musk, and Putin.

@MeanwhileinCanada I find these lamentations about a trade deficit funny:

If people buy less from you than you buy from them ... then go and sell them more.

And if they don't want to buy more from you then maybe you need to review what you have to offer them (e.g. in terms of relevance, pricing and quality)?

@kiefheim @MeanwhileinCanada Trump sees business as a zero-sum game: if the balance tips one way or the other that side is «winning». And he does not understand that when you buy something you get goods in return.

Anyway, if Canada turns off the oil and gas going to the US the balance will switch, if that is what Trump wants…

@toriver @MeanwhileinCanada Yes, but it is silly. He's old enough to know better.

Sorry.

Stupid me.
