Gaah, how do you deal with general feeling of "everything's shit"?

The work thing I used to love and felt like it was impactful (Unity) has been going downhill for many years, and so far does not look like it wants to stop going downhill.

What I dabble with now (Blender) feels useful, but I'm too afraid to take on more impactful areas/work/responsibilities.

And then, everything outside of "just ye olde coding" feels like it is going to shit.

Argh!

@aras I don’t know if it’ll work for you, but:
On the personal scale:
I’m trying to stay healthy (eat, sleep, sport, get enough light, avoid infections, …) and get fitter (mild strength & HIIT exercises) and help my family do the same.

On the “world at large” scale:
We’ve identified a bunch of possible scenarios of how world events could negatively impact us and have some rough plans & preparations for mitigation.

Tech/professional:
I’ve started actively preferring…[1/2]

@aras […] and trying to work on projects that solve problems for myself and at the same time reduce my own dependence on Big Tech and increase control over my own data, and which have the potential to do the same for others. Given how tangled up Big Tech has become with the other shit going on, this seems like an area where I can actually make some small difference with my skills and strengths.
